Charlotte’s First Mobile Cupcake Truck (cupcakery) is owned and operated by ‘Emma L. Merisier, who’s gift for baking has earned her the nickname SouthernCakeQueen (SCQ). We also offer custom cakes and other delicious treats. SCQ is originally from Mount Pleasant, SC where she learned to bake many of her home made goods from scratch! Often times baking was done with no written directions or measurements, so she quickly had to learn the difference between a “pinch of this” and a “tad of that” while taking baking instructions.
SCQ graduated from Francis Marion University and moved to Charlotte, NC in the hopes of working in Corporate America, but her love for the kitchen often times kept her busy on weekends baking and cooking to cater small events for family and friends. When the demand for her baked goodies became so high she decided to see if she could turn this love into a profit, thus came SouthernCakeQueen.
Every Saturday you can find the SCQ Mobile Cupcakery in Historic South End at 1616 Camden Rd (across from Phat Burrito, near Price’s Chicken Coop). THE PINK CUPCAKE TRUCK is usually filled with gourmet cupcakes, red velvet cheesecake brownies, charleston chewies, and an assortment of drinks.
